France Day1 Calais to Ury

An uneventful drive to Dover. We had to divert 10 minutes from home because the back road to the A1 was shut because of road works. We had soon made it down to the Dartford crossing and had time to stop for a new travel kettle Travel kettles were a popular item. Currys had sold out and Argos had a choice of three. They were out of stock of two of them and had one left so it was Hobson’s choice. Whilst waiting to collect it the man in front had bought the same item. The man behind us was going to be disappointed.EWe stocked up for provisions for lunch at the Tesco in Dover. A regular stop and we arived at the ferry terminal early for a change. The crossing was uneventful with the journey spent reading the instruction for the new video camera and having Brexton picnic. The journey to Ury was under 4 hours and we arrived before 8 beating Kate’s initial estimate by over 20 minutes. The route took us on the Paris ring road without any delays. The accommodation is an upstairs studio apartment. They saw the bikes on the car and let us park on their drive. A fine selection of breakfast items are already in the room / fridge ready for the morning. We have even more tech this year 3 Cameras 1 video camera 1 Smart phone 2 mobiles 2 sat nav ‘s if you include the build in one tp the car 1 lap top 1 Hudl
